COAT CARE
Products and Necessities
Whether your dog sees a groomer or not it's still a good idea to have these products at hand when you have a canine in your home.
Grooming
It is an absolute necessity to make sure you are maintaining your dogs coat between dog grooming sessions. Even if your dog has short coat that sheds, it's still a good idea to brush your dogs coat out. Brushing is crucial for breeds of dogs who don't shed. Especially if you don't have them shaved down into a short cut. Side effects of not brushing your dogs coat can include the following: Large matts, irritation, dead skin and dirt buildup. Also, be sure to use a leave in conditioner spray or a grooming spray when brushing your dogs coat out, this will help with any knots. Not using a spray can cause damage to your dogs hair, especially if it's curly or has any texture.
Bathing
Bathing is also a necessity no matter what. Depending on the breed and dog the span in between your dogs bathes can vary around every week to every three months. Make sure you are investing in a good dog shampoo and always make sure to do your research on a product before you introduce it to your pets skin and fur. Another good investment for your pooches is a high velocity dryer. I recommend these to any owner with a longer-haired dog, and even more so to anyone who owns a poodle, spoo, doodle or any dog mixed with a poodle or that has fur texture like curls, waves, etc. If your dog does have texture and you fully towel dry or air dry it it will not only damage your fur, but can cause their natural curls to be stubborn and stay no matter how much you brush them out, which can be annoying if your someone who likes the "poofy" look that many go for.
